Artist Focus: Mehrdad Khataei
Printmaker – IRAN
Mehrdad Khataie is one of the greatest printmakers of Iran and a well-known artist in the world. It had been 16 years since Mehrdad has started doing engraving on copper continuously. Moreover, Mehrdad has invented some techniques during these years of experience. Concerning developments of industrial publication and features of printmaking Mehrdad says:” the key feature of printmaking which makes it different from industrial publication and the reason for attracting different artists during the history of art is unpredictability of stereotype formation and the fact that printmaking provides a new perception of visual elements and space for the artist”.
Mehrdad has different experiences in teaching in credible universities. He has gained so many rewards from different countries including Canada, France, and Portugal for his printmaking and has held numerous art exhibitions.
