Artist Focus: RouhoAllah Ataiean
Calligrapher – IRAN
RouhoAllah Ataiean, self-studied graphic designer, painter and calligraphist, was engaged with other branches of art including music and photography. His deep affections for art and aesthetics made him to use every topic with a good visual aspect for creating an artwork. He believes that he has a different perspective from his surrounding, and uses calligram to express his inner feelings. In all his artworks, RouhoAllah is inspired by nature.
Designing book covers, teaching in art centers and designing various posters are among his other activities. A new collection of his calligrams is getting ready for an exhibition. He explains about his style and says: “specific form of Persian alphabets is so graphical. I do emphasize on forming colors and shapes. If I can communicate with a piece of poem, I would instantly figure out a form for it in my mind.”
