You have worked in few advertising studios. How are you dealing with clients’ changes on your designs?
I believe convincing the client is one of the most difficult tasks in a graphic designer’s career. Like most other designers, I have been dealing with this problem more or less. Client’s character is highly important, there wont be any problem if the client has a good visual perception. The problem starts when the client has a low visual knowledge and he insists on forcing his attitude to your design. In such occasions it is better to explain about the elements including the choice of elements including color, lay out, and etc.

Another solution would be showing them other samples in which designer have followed visual bases and rules with the aim of increase their perception. We must consider that client’s satisfaction is one of bases of this job.

You are the chosen artist of Shamseh Festival. Tell us about the designing process of that poster…
In the second Shamseh Festival, a workshop has been held with the presence of master Kalhor-Nia, Ms. Mohebbi and other great masters. Ms. Mohebbi had a speech before we start drawing. I must say that his speech was a great help for me in developing my idea. His words about Tehran reminded me of the old days; a clean, beautiful and ever surreal Tehran where beautiful birds of Gol-o-Morgh were flying.

Tell us about Knito and iKnito Advertising project…
Knito and iKnito are two digital library applications, which can be used either individually or in an institution. Knito is the abbreviation of Knowledge is Touching; for iKnito we added an i to specify it for institutions.

For designing Knito logo, like any other logo, we must have taught of some specific characteristics and focus on them. One of the most evident characteristics of this application is its simple usage on any devices including PCs, laptops, Tablets and smartphones. This characteristic was the source of inspiration for me. Knito logo is a combination of typeface and element. The element itself is a combination of simplified figures of tablet and laptop that seems like an open book at the same time. Designing Knito’s typeface was the project in which I took advantage of simple fonts. The final combination of typeface and element get together in a rectangular form, which was a good format for an engineering product.

An important point in this logo is the distinctive color of letter “i”. Considering the point that i is an important letter in virtual world, I have decided to put an emphasis on it by differing its color.
